The Kroger Co. is one of the world’s largest grocery retailers, with over 400,000 employees. They are currently ranked 25 on the Fortune 100. The Kroger Co. family of stores spans many states with store formats that include grocery and multi-department stores, discount, convenience and jewelry stores.

Mandatory weekly overtime was required every Saturday for the corporate reporting department to ensure timely creation of a key management report. The mandatory overtime was eliminated with Dodeca.

Another report, which was formerly generated daily at the store level, was automated using Dodeca and brought an estimated 1,500 man-hour per day time savings across the company.

The Achieving Best Store Expense application is unique in that it sets achievable cost containment targets for selected store-controllable expense accounts and provides store managers information about how other nearby stores are progressing towards their targets for these accounts. This is actionable, collaborative business intelligence at its best as Kroger is seeing store managers working together to achieve targets in their individual stores. They have estimated a cost savings over $500m with just this one Dodeca application.

Also. Kroger leveraged Dodeca toolbars and drill-through with Essbase and SQL to improve the user experience for senior executives.

HBO is a subscription based streaming platform that features blockbuster movies, documentaries, and concert specials.

HBO shortened Close tasks from days to minutes. They compute license fees due on a monthly basis with Dodeca.

Nestle is a Swiss multinational food and beverage company that is the world’s largest in its industry: Nestlé offers products under their 8,500 brands. They sell products in 188 countries. Nestle ranks 50th on the Fortune Global List.

Previous attempts using SAP technology were unsuccessful due to the sophisticated allocations required for shrink-wrap products. Revenues and costs need to be allocated to the respective individual product owners. These complex allocations were accomplished using the Dodeca extensibility model to guide data through several databases.

Nestle replaced their SAP application and built a mission-critical forecasting system for 250,000 products in Dodeca. They have users in 50+ countries.

Nestle has been a customer since 2011 and has over 2,000 licenses.

Wells Fargo provides banking, insurance, investments, mortgage, and consumer and commercial finance. Wells Fargo is currently ranked 47th on the Fortune 500. It operates in 35 countries and serves over 70 million customers worldwide.

Wells Fargo has many Dodeca mission critical applications deployed throughout the bank. The Monthly Outlook / Forecast application is used to gather both numbers and variance analysis for the daily flash reports during the monthly close. This information is gathered and summarized for 2,000 business units daily by using Dodeca Commentary capture.

Principal Financial Group is a global financial services company that specializes in providing retirement solutions, insurance products, and investment services to individuals, businesses, and institutional clients, focusing primarily on helping people plan for and secure their retirement through offerings like annuities, 401(k) plans, and life insurance, with operations across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America.

Principal uses Dodeca in various capacities. Some interesting applications are calendar workflow management and running validations. Ensuring data integrity is of utmost importance. Through the automation and scheduling of the validation process, they have saved hundreds of hours per year. Principal validates data between HFM, Essbase, and General Ledger.

Kewaunee specializes in the manufacture of laboratory furniture and equipment, such as work tables, service stations, cabinets and storage spaces, ventilation systems – in general, everything necessary to ensure a safe environment in a laboratory.

Dodeca facilitated creating dynamic reporting and reduced the number from 30 down to 6 reports. They are using Dodeca for Sales and Inventory applications utilizing Essbase and SQL.

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is a globally recognized luxury hospitality company renowned for its exceptional service, high-quality properties, and personalized attention, focusing on providing a premium travel experience with a commitment to consistently exceeding guest expectations across its portfolio of hotels and resorts worldwide.

Financial calculations for each of their 120 managed properties was very different and formerly required multiple manually-prepared spreadsheets per property be created and maintained on a monthly basis for billing and on a quarterly basis for budgeting and forecasting. Dodeca enabled the contractual rules written into a database from which the spreadsheets are automatically generated saving tremendous amounts of time while enforcing consistency in the spreadsheet generation. This process improvement became critical during the pandemic with rapidly changing business requirements when weekly forecasts where necessary to maintain business continuity.

Deckers Brands is a global company that designs, markets, and distributes footwear, apparel, and accessories for casual and high-performance use. The company’s portfolio includes brands such as UGG, HOKA, Teva, Koolaburra, Sanuk, and AHNU.

The Finance team’s reception of Dodeca was hugely enthusiastic due to the value proposition baked into Dodeca with Essbase: its ease of use, support for secondary navigation, drill-through, and commentary. Together, these elements not only allowed users to quickly retrieve the reports they need, but made those reports interactive and provided a highly efficient way to answer the questions raised by the numbers. Using Dodeca commentary, analysis of financial results could then be immediately shared across the organization. Dodeca is a reporting, budgeting, and forecasting tool for both the GL and employee-level salary planning.

Deckers Brands has been a customer since 2020.

Banc of California is an American bank serving the state of California with over 80 branches in Southern California, as well as locations in Denver, Colorado, and Durham, North Carolina.[3] Banc of California offers a broad range of loan and deposit products and services, focusing on providing banking and treasury management services to small, middle-market, and venture-backed businesses.

Dodeca quickly became an essential tool for building out financial statements and comparable reports. The software also helped to streamline their budgeting process by migrating it from Excel to a single, easily accessible location. BoC benefited from the software’s ability to integrate with various databases, its reporting lockdown feature, and its overall speed and reliability.

Estimations that Dodeca saved approximately one full-time employee’s worth of time and effort, with potential cost savings of around $150,000.

Belcan is a global engineering and technology company that provides services to the aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial, and government sectors. Belcan offers design, software, manufacturing, supply chain, information technology, and digital engineering solutions. Belcan’s customers include the Department of Defense, the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Air Force.

With the help of Dodeca, Belcan is able to put together a ”Walks Report” that explains variances while providing an intuitive data entry process and centralized environment for all walks commentary. This has all been made possible with the event driven scripting inside of Dodeca and the ability to have multiple data connections on a report.
