OlapUnderground Essbase Outline Extractor Support for Unicode Databases and Essbase 11.1.1.2 Announced

Huntsville, AL, May 11, 2009 - New version of OlapUnderground Essbase Outline Extractor released with support for Unicode databases; Essbase version 11.1.1.2 support announced.

Applied OLAP, Inc. today released a new version of the open source OlapUnderground Outline Extractor with new functionality that supports Essbase database outlines created using Unicode encoding.  Unicode encoding is an option available to companies that have Essbase member names or aliases comprised of characters not in the standard ASCII character set.  For example, Unicode is used to create Essbase member names in Chinese and Japanese. 

Additionally, Applied OLAP, Inc. also released versions of the Essbase Outline Extractor and of the OlapUnderground Advanced Security Manager with support for the Essbase version 11.1.1.2.

The OlapUnderground Utilities were originally written by a group of anonymous Essbase developers who wished to provide utilities for simplifying certain Essbase operations. Due to increasing job responsibilities, the original developers did not have time to maintain the code.  Applied OLAP, Inc maintains the product and provides limited support activities as a service to the general Essbase community.
